Mercedes-Benz Superdome is a venue situated in the city of New Orleans, the state of Louisiana. It is not far from the New Orleans Arena. It was originally called Louisiana Superdome, but it is referred to simply as The Superdome. The football team New Orleans Saints takes the venue as home to their games.

The Superdome draw attention is a different way in 2005 when it used as a shelter for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Because of the storm, the venue was damaged and was closed for months. The naming rights for the venue were purchased in October 2011 by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, and the venue was named after the Company starting from October 23, 2011. The venue has a capacity of about 76,468 seats for football and for basketball the attendance could reach 76,468 after the seating expansion in 2011. For the WWE, the venue could receive 82,000 attendees.

The main tenant of the arena is the NFL team New Orleans Saints. 10 Super Bowls have been held at the venue including the latest version of 2013 Super Bowl XLVII. Though there are intentions to construct a small stadium, the collegiate football team of Tulane University takes the Superdome as home to its games. 4 times, the National Championship Game of BCS has appeared at the arena. The New Orleans Bowl and the Sugar Bowl appear also every year the venue.

The arena hosted baseball games, and the first game took place between Houston Astros and the Minnesota Twins in 1976. The 1977 season, the New Orleans Pelicans took the stadium as home to their games. And many other baseball teams have played or trained at the stadium including Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and others. Basketball games also have appeared at the venue including a recent Final Four of the NCAA in 2012. Some basketball teams have previously taken the stadium as home to their games as it was the case with New Orleans Jazz that played there between 1975 and 1979.
